University of Miami Miller School of Medicine & Max Planck Institute for Neurobiology
The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine (UMMSM) and the Max Planck Institute (MPI) are pleased to offer a Research Trainee Exchange Program to graduate students in Neuroscience.
The research interests of the neuroscientists at the MPI and those of the faculty at the UMMSM are overlapping but distinct, making an exchange a mutually beneficial opportunity for interested students. The Max Planck Institute for Neurobiology in Martinsried/Munich is world-renowned for its research in cellular, molecular, and systems neuroscience. UMMSM has successful research programs in molecular and cellular neuroscience, neurological injury, neurological disease, human neurogenetics, sensory neuroscience, and behavioral neuroscience. An exchange program enhances the research being conducted at both organizations through the sharing of techniques and ideas and the fostering of collaborations. It also broadens and strengthens PhD and postdoctoral education on both campuses by increasing the exposure of research trainees to new and different approaches to research.
